You may have always wanted to build a raised garden to grow your own vegies but felt that it was too difficult, not anymore as Colin showed us a lightweight option that is perfect for almost any garden... the Better-Gro Garden Bed. Colin used the garden bed to create a veggie garden that looks as good as it tastes!
Better-Gro Garden Beds are designed and manufactured right here in WA using high grade potable water and food safe polyethylene, so you can rest assured that there will be no leaching of heavy metals, toxins or other nasty chemicals into the food that you are going to eat.
The garden beds come in four UV stabilised modern colours that will ensure the pots will give you and your garden many years of service. The beds have a four pin locking system and strengthened walls for long lasting durability. There is also the option of a tray allowing the garden bed to be set up on a balcony or patio area.
This week Colin created a ’Potager’ or kitchen garden by planting a range of mixed vegies and flowering plants. Always start by using a good quality premium potting mix with the red ticks when planting vegies and flowering plants.
The plants included some colourful and tasty lettuce and mizuna for the front and broccoli and rainbow chard for the back of the garden bed. Some colourful pansies, snapdragons, marigolds and lobelia as well as a beautiful ‘Seduction’ rose were also added to create the overall effect.
Always give your plants a good watering in after planting with some seaweed solution and apply a liquid fertiliser every two weeks.
