Each year we get to showcase several Award-Winning builders – and today it’s Averna Homes. Holly showed us around the very new, very special, ‘Villa Mia’. On display in South Perth this 3-level home is another stunning example of what Averna create.
With the block sizes challenging builders these days this home is really distinctive, boasting many new features, even squeezing in a pool. Holly spoke to GM Paul Spatara of Averna.

“Holly…The team at Averna really love a challenge and the ‘Villa Mia’ is our very newest show home and we are so proud of it! The home is on a narrow block however boast 3 levels, a 4-car garage, with workshop, games room or theatre room. There’s also a wine Cellar and a lift that services all 3 levels.
And there’s a central courtyard….in architectural terms it is called a Loggia – a place where you can relax sipping a drink, listening to your favourite music – it even has a heater for those cooler months.”
And this is the hub of the home. A huge living room boasting the dining area, stunning kitchen opening out to the seriously special Alfresco. And as Paul mentioned earlier, the team at Averna have even been able to squeeze in a Swimming pool for those Hot Summer Days.
This open plan living is really all the rage in design now and as with many quality kitchens these days there is the hidden Scullery…
At the front of the Villa Mia is the huge master bedroom with a beautiful Ensuite. There are also three minor bedrooms for the family with a central bathroom servicing all three. And how about this for the children or young adults, they’ve designed in an activity area that can adapt for whatever you need as the family grows.
Paul pointed out some interesting finishes used in the home – the use of Cedar Ceiling liner throughout, touches of Inax Hosowari Border wall cladding from Japan.
