Hans discussed Housing Affordability with Tanya Steinbeck of UDIA WA and she gave the following insight.
“Hans, one of the critical elements of this is ‘supply’ and maintaining a range of housing options, whether that be house and land, apartment or townhouse living, so one of the things that UDIA has been critically focused on in the last six to eight weeks is doing a ‘deep dive’ into just how much supply Perth has over the next 5 – 10 years and interestingly what we have discovered is certain corridors in the Perth area are almost going to run out of supply of new housing over the next 4 or 5 years. Two of those corridors we are most concerned about are the North East Corridor of Perth and the South West corridor from around Cockburn down to Rockingham.”
