Here at Home in WA we love partnering with the UDIA of WA because they keep us updated on all of the amazing development projects happening around our state. One of the most impressive projects currently-under-construction is Murdoch Square by Hesperia, which represents where Perth is heading.
Billed as a “precinct of the future” Murdoch Square is a mixed-use development centered around public transport and located within the broader Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct.
When complete, it will bring together healthcare, offices, retail, dining, and transit in one place.
Perth is being transformed into a globally competitive destination for visitors and those wanting to live and work here. Murdoch Square is a great example of this, given the sheer scale with 60,000 square metres of gross floor area across five buildings on 1.2 hectares.
This entire project combines aged care, specialist medical suites, a medi-hotel, and lots more in a single centralized location.
Murdoch Square forms the first stage of the larger Murdoch Activity Centre (MAC); a State Government ‘strategic priority activity area.’ Located directly adjacent to two of WA’s largest tertiary hospitals, and just 13 kilometres from the Perth CBD along the Kwinana Freeway.
While Murdoch Square is custom-designed to be a transit hub, there’s plenty of opportunity for local residents, office workers, and health workers to be part of the emerging neighbourhood.
The project is due for completion in early 2023, and when complete, Murdoch Square will be home to a significant onsite population consisting of residents, office workers, medical specialists, patients and visitors and provide a place for the neighbourhood to live, work and play.
Perth is changing rapidly and Murdoch Square is going to become an iconic site in our city.
